A significant milestone has been marked at Divine Word University’s St Benedict’s Campus in Wewak, with the official launch of a major infrastructure development project in partnership with the East Sepik Provincial Government.
The occasion was attended by East Sepik Provincial Governor Hon. Allan Bird, DWU President Professor Fr. Philip Gibbs, DWU St Benedict’s Campus Administrator Mr Peter Kaiyeke, staff, students, government representatives, alumni and invited guests.
Governor Bird and Professor Fr. Philip Gibbs officially launched the project, marking the beginning of a new phase of infrastructure development at the Wewak campus.
The project forms part of a new five-year Memorandum of Partnership between the East Sepik Provincial Government and Divine Word University. The partnership aims to strengthen educational infrastructure, expand opportunities for students and support the development priorities of East Sepik Province.
The partnership reflects a shared commitment to investing in education, developing human capacity and creating greater opportunities for the young people of East Sepik and Papua New Guinea.
